Topaz on Columbite (RARE combo) Robertson Coll.

Item Description

A VERY RARE and impressive combination from an unknown Minas Gerais pegmatite! A 6 mm, gem colorless topaz crystal is dramatically perched atop a rare, euhedral, complete all-around and pristine, floater columbite crystal. Some of the columbite faces are contacted, but there is no damage, per se. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 5226 and acquired from the Shale's in the late 1960s. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017). An exceptional, perhaps unique Minas Gerais combination.
