Topaz (old classic find)

Weighing in at 242 grams, this fine, sharp, very robust, mostly transparent and gemmy Topaz is from the classic Mimoso do Sul district in Brazil and has the symmetry typical of these old classics. It is a beautiful pale seafoam-green with a super glassy luster and is mainly transparent throughout with a cloudy area in the center. This piece is really a trio of tightly intergrown, parallel growth Topaz crystals composed of one larger and two slightly smaller, similarly sized crystals, all with textbook form for the species. It is in excellent condition with only a trace of chatter on the edges in a couple of places. This is a fine and impressive Brazilian Topaz with distinct form and style for the locality that makes them classics of the heyday of Brazil, probably found something like 40 years ago now.
