Most Topaz gems, especially the majority of blue Topaz gems you'll find on the market today, have been irradiated or treated in some way in order to create the blue color. That's not to say that blue Topaz doesn't occur in nature, there just typically isn't enough of it to satisfy the demand from buyers. Brazil has probably produced more fine gem quality Topaz stones than any other country. This attractive little "sparkler" is a lovely natural light blue colored, (un-treated) gem with a "Round Brilliant" cut and eye-clean clarity.
