Topaz (natural bi-colored crystals) (RARE matrix specimen)

The famous Khoroshiv Raion locality (formerly Volodarsk-Volynskyi) is renowned for its superior Beryl crystals, which are some of the largest gem crystals of the species ever found. Many people are probably not aware that this locality also produces some world-class Topaz specimens, which are distinctive for their natural bi-colored appearance. There are few minerals in the world that produce bi-colored crystals, and these particular Topaz crystals have a stark contrast of a rich golden sherry hue and glowing sky blue color in the same crystals! This piece is a fine quality and showy cabinet sized display specimen featuring multiple well-formed, gemmy Topaz crystals measuring up to 4.5 cm long, but what really sets this piece apart from others is the fact that there are multiple crystals present (most pieces from this locality are loose single crystals), AND they're on matrix, which is also notably rare to find from Khoroshiv Raion. Beige colored "rosettes" of Albite can be seen on one side of the piece for a nice touch. One of the Topaz crystals is contacted, but the rest of them are in fine shape, including the main crystal, which sits so beautifully atop the piece. This piece is from more recent collecting, and is one of the best and showiest matrix examples that we've ever had to offer in the auctions.
