Topaz (GEM crystal) on Albite

Pakistan might be best-known for its world-class Aquamarine specimens, but some of the most beautiful and iconic sherry colored Topaz crystals in the world have been found in Pakistan over the last 30+ years. The famed Shigar Valley has produced some superb Topaz specimens from the standpoint of color, size, and gemminess. This small cabinet sized specimen features a 2.8 cm GEM QUALITY crystal with rather sharp, well-formed, lustrous faces, and a gentle golden-sherry hue, aesthetically flaring off of white bladed Albite (var: Cleavelandite) matrix. The elegant form and near WATER-CLEAR transparency of the Topaz makes it incredibly enticing, and the fact that it's UN-REPAIRED on matrix is even more desirable. It displays well from a few angles also. You don't see nearly as many of these pieces from Pakistan on the market as compared to a few years ago. A very attractive and fine quality gem crystal specimen for any collector. Valued $950 on the former dealer label, but I would put in closer to the $1,250-$1,500 range in today's market.
Please note that these crystals CAN fade to colorless when exposed to sunlight, or possibly any light, so it should be kept out of the light if possible to help retain its color.
