Item Description
A beautiful OLD TIME natural pale blue colored Topaz crystal from the old Ropp Tin Mines in Nigeria. This piece is a very well-formed prism with fairly sharp faces and great internal gemminess. One side of the crystal has a bit of incomplete growth, but not damage. The label states that there are Adularia inclusions inside the crystal, which is unusual to be sure. This is very hard to find material, and one of the best examples that we've ever seen from this locality. Valued at $400. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#728), the early entry number means that this piece dates back more than 50 years. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
