Item Description
Rising majestically out of a matrix of white marble is a well formed, glassy and gemmy, peachy-pink topaz crystal, measuring 3.3 cm in length. Tectonic movement in situ has naturally separated most of the crystal from its base. However, the crystal was held together by the matrix it grew in despite the stresses, and is still firmly cemented to its matrix so it is in no danger of breaking loose; and is an interesting example (by its partial process) of how geological forces act to separate so many crystals from matrix in nature. The topaz is GLASSY and exceedingly gemmy! Valued $1250. ex Graw collection
