Topaz (doubly-terminated) on Albite

An attractive, showy, three-dimensional classic sherry colored Topaz specimen from Pakistan. Dassu for quite some years now has produced some of the finest Topaz specimens from any locality in the world in terms of color, crystal form, quality size and gemminess. The piece hosts a sharp, well-formed, gemmy/translucent, soft golden-sherry colored prismatic crystal of Topaz measuring 4.2 cm sitting on slightly "curved" groups of white Albite (var: Cleavelandite) matrix. If you flip the piece over, you'll see the back of the Albite is re-crystallized ("re-healed"), so the piece is very close to being a complete "floater". The main Topaz crystal is actually doubly-terminated, which is not commonly seen in this material, and there is actually a little "baby" Topaz on one end of the piece for a nice touch. The piece honestly looks better in person than the video might indicate. You don't see nearly as many of these pieces from Pakistan on the market as compared to a few years ago, and a highly displayable and top quality piece like this is certainly desirable from this well-known locale in the high mountains of Pakistan. A really cool gem crystal display specimen for any collector. Please note that these Topaz crystals can fade to colorless when exposed to sunlight, so it should be kept out of the light if possible to help retain its color.
