Item Description
The area around Devils Head is known to produce wonderful gem Topaz crystals, and this is good example of said material. A lot of the Topaz crystals from this locality have some sort of etching, and this piece shows a mixture of smooth well-formed faces with gentle etched forms, creating a one-of-a-kind piece. It's actually doubly-terminated, though not totally complete, as one side is contacted. When backlit, the crystal is rather gemmy with a light sherry hue. Overall this is a worthwhile example of the gem material that can be found on the front range in central Colorado. Weight is 19.44 grams.
