Here we have a good sized, beautiful blue Topaz cabochon (which has been irradiated to create the color) from Brazil with a detailed and eye-catching intaglio carving of a nymph in the back. Please note that the Topaz is naturally occurring material, but the color is created by humans. This treatment is widely known and accepted in the gem world, and is not frowned upon, provided the buyer is aware that they are purchasing a treated stone. A really attractive gem that would make a nice addition to any collection, or as the center stone in a pendant.
