Topaz (877 grams) (ex Paul Zerfass Collection)

Item Description

An impressive, large, sharp, lustrous, GEMMY, soft NATURAL blue color crystal of Topaz from Governador Valadares (no specific mine given). The piece is big for Topaz from any locality, but the irony is that it was actually larger, as it's cleaved on the back (technically that would be the base of the crystal since the faces you can see are actually the termination). The piece nearly weighs a full kilo (877 grams) and looks beautiful in any light. It's in great shape on display on the side with many fine quality, sharp, smooth, well-formed faces and some selective slightly etched faces in areas. Very attractive and hard to find on market these days. Valued at $2500. From the collection of the long time, beloved, well-known French field collector, Paul Zerfass (Collection #685). Zerfass built this worldwide collection over nearly 50 years, many of which were personally collected.
