Item Description

A lovely 5 crystal set of classic "sherry" colored Topaz from the classic locality in Utah. These attractive, sharp, lustrous, gemmy, little thumbnail display specimens wouldn't ordinarily be too exciting, but it's the pedigree here that counts. These crystals come from the collection of Willard W. Wulff (1904-1998) of Colorado Springs, Colorado, a prominent figure and collector of Colorado minerals. Wulff was one of the founding members of the Colorado Springs Mineralogical Society in 1936. You can read Willard's bio on the Mineralogical Record website here ( http://www.minrec.org/labels.asp?colid=1528 ). The pieces come with a typed label from Wulff that that states they were collected by Edwin Over, who was also one of the founding members of the CSMS. Considerin the Ed died in 1963, these specimens are AT LEAST 50 years old! A wonderfully historic and eye-catching set of this well known old time material.
