Item Description
A classic, old-time untreated Topaz specimen from the lesser known Tres Barras locality. This thick, hefty, very sharp, lustrous, well-formed crystal group of pale sherry colored Topaz is one of the best example of this material that I've seen from the locality. The specimen comes from the collection of Richard Kosnar, who acquired the piece in Brazil in the mid 1970s. With the exception of a few tiny imperfections, the piece is essentially damage free on the top. It's not just a single crystal, but actually a group of a few crystals intergrown into the form on a single crystal. Great quality all around, and this is a wonderful opportunity to pick up a piece if you're a gem crystal collector, a collector of Brazilian minerals, or if you just enjoy Topaz. The piece weighs 391 grams (1,955 carats). Valued at $2,000.
