100% gem, water-clear 27g Topaz from the well-know locality of Klein Spitzkopje in Namibia. What really distinguishes this Topaz is how the luster of the crystal faces alternate. The side faces of the prism are all lustrous and glassy, the main faces of the termination are frosted, and the modified faces at the very tip of the termination are lustrous and glassy again. The consistency of the pattern, and the very fact that there is such a pattern, is fascinating.
