Item Description

Mineral specimens of ANY type are RARE from the Type Locality of Todorokite, a relatively common complex manganese oxide. This EXTREMELY RARE and sculptural small cabinet combination features a rich coating of tiny shiny gray-metallic and matte rust-red spheres and spherical aggregates on a RARE aesthetically intergrown cluster of Quartz crystals. The large doubly terminated quartz crystal is 5.1 cm long. MINDAT lists quartz for the locale, but there are NO examples in the locality Photo Gallery. Ex Chet Lemanski Collection #0284 and acquired in 1991 from respected rarities dealer Pequa Rare Minerals. A rare, perhaps UNIQUE combination from this old quartz vein gold mine, that was active from 1903 to 1974.
