Item Description

Todorokite is a complex Oxide species { (Ca,K,Na,Mg,Ba,Mn)(Mn,Mg,Al) 6O12 ? 3H2O }, and is named after the Todoroki Mine in Japan. The species is found in various worldwide localities, including the famous Franklin Mining District in New Jersey. This piece features several rather sharp, dark black-grey color, well-formed crystals of Todorokite with white Calicte and pinkish-brown Willemite. The piece came to Rich Kosnar from noted New Jersey collector Pat Gross, and her original black plastic mounting box accompanies the piece. A cool specimen of this classic material.
