Item Description
A lovely Italian Alpine association piece that honestly reminds me of similar looking pieces that I've seen from Pakistan in recent years. Sharp, well-formed, lustrous golden colored Titanite (Sphene) crystals measuring up to 5 mm are associated with soft bluish-green colored "needles" of Diopsided measuring up to 9 mm on matrix. Very attractive up close, and hard to find on the market today. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#11008) with an old label from The Rocksmiths. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
