Item Description

Titanite is one of the most well known of all the Alpine cleft species in the world, and some of the more interesting specimens in the world have come out of Pakistan for many years. In some cases, these specimens are seemingly identical to the classic Alpine specimens from Europe. Most often, Titanite is green, but the diggins at Hashupa have produced some very eye-catching crystals with a slightly yellow tone (I've also seen tan and beige colored crystals), that are certainly different from the typically "wedge"-shaped green crystals for which the species is known. This piece hosts unique, attractive, greenish-yellow colored, flattened crystals of Titianite, which are aesthetically flaring off a "Faden"-esque formation of green colored Diopside crystals with incredibly thin, acicular, "needles" of "Byssolite". It's a very good quality specimen that displays well, and would fit nicely into any collection. This material is highly prized by collectors for its form, associations and unusual color for the Titanite. It has become increasingly more difficult to obtain top specimens from this locality.
