Item Description
The "Alpine"-type Titanites from Pakistan rival the true Alpine specimens from various localities in Austria, and sometimes can surpass them in terms of size, quality and aesthetics. This piece is a gorgeous complete "floater" specimen of Titanite featuring doubly-terminated, euhedral crystals of a light green color which are partially coated by Clinochlore ("Chlorite"). I don't think the piece is a twin, just intergrown crystals, but the overall aesthetic appeal and beautiful form combined with the fact that it's an undamaged "floater", it's a very worthwhile specimen of this contemporary classic material from Pakistan. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#11575). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
