Item Description

Chalcopyrite is unheard of from the Alpine-cleft deposits at Tormiq, well-known for axinite, diopside, clinozoisite, epidote, titanite and other species. A brassy, corroded, 9 mm chalcopyrite crystal rests dead center of the intersection of large, glassy, highly lustrous, partially translucent, light olive-green titanite blades. Complete all-around. A modest bit of periphery wear is noted and the back is partially contacted, but have essentially no impact on the overall quality and rarity of this combination. The aesthetic presentation of the titanite blades makes for an impressive specimen. Probably unique combination material. Ex Herb Obodda dealer stock. Herb valued this rarity at $800, five or more years ago. It is certainly worth more today.
