Item Description

I can say that I haven't seen one of these specimens before I received this piece. It is a fairly sharp, blocky twinned partial crystal of Titanite (Sphene) from near Kingman in northwesern Arizona. The piece comes with a typed dealer label attached to the base of the perky box in which it's mounted which states that this is "Keilhauite", which is a recognized variety of Titanite containing up to 10% Yttrium. A cool reference piece for all you rare earth collectors out there! From the collection of noted Colorado geologist, Allen Heyl, the namesake for the phosphate Aheylite.
