Item Description

Tormiq has produced a great variety of titanite specimens, in a great range of colors and habits. Some of the varying finds include disk-like, tabular pinkish crystals and steep, honey colored wedge shaped crystals, but the most popular and attractive of all the habits of titanite from this locality would have to be the grass green, blocky, twinned crystals.. These are "Alpine-type" titanite crystals, and the would be worth a great deal to any Alpine collector if there were found in Austria, Italy or Switzerland. This large and excellent combination specimen features nicely clustered sharp, lustrous, green color, twinned crystals of titanite up to 1.6 cm long sitting on glassy adularia crystals, white feldspar crystals and nearby fields of beautiful lustrous, metallic, black-green "rosettes" of clinochlore. A fine large combination, especially since these pieces are some of the most difficult to obtain from Pakistan. Ex Herb Obodda dealer stock and valued at $600 on his label, more than five years ago. It is worth more today.
