Item Description
A 1.2 x 1.0 x 0.7 cm, upright, gemmy/lustrous, twinned titanite crystal and two blocky, pearlescent calcite rhombs, to 1.6 cm, are the striking focal points of this showy and uncommon combination from Tormiq. The glassy, yellow-green titanite in combination with the calcite rhombs is very uncommon for this Alpine-type locale. The matrix plate is covered with tiny adularia crystals and two fields of tiny green clinochlore crystals. The titanite and calcites are pristine. This is a very fine example of this rare combination from this locale. The calcites fluoresce moderate orange-pink. Ex Herb Obodda dealer stock and valued by Herb at $450 for rarity and quality more than five years ago.
