Item Description

Brazil is one of the most mineral-diverse nations in the world, but Titanite is not often the first species that people think of when it comes to Brazilian minerals. With that said, some of the finest quality crystals of this titanium silicate in the world come from Capelinha. Some of the best examples are well-formed twins with excellent color and gemminess. This piece is a fine quality, classic twinned Titanite crystal, free of matrix with a beautiful lime green color that shifts to more of a golden hue on the ends/edges, with good internal gemminess when backlit. Minor roughness can be seen, but it's still very good quality for the material. A lovely example of this famous and world-class material.
See the recent issue of The Mineralogical Record, Vol. 53, No. 3, Pgs. 315-370 for more info on this locality.
