Item Description

Titanite is sometimes referred to as "Sphene" but it is an archaic term. With that said, both names are generally accepted in the gem and mineral world. Curiously, it seems to me that more often it is referred to as "Sphene" in the gem world and Titanite is used for crystallized specimens in the mineral world. One of the great aspects of faceted Titanite is the incredibly high dispersion of the material. This gem has a saturated golden color, with flashes of red, orange, yellow and green when rotated in the light (best seen in sunlight). The stone is slightly included with a "Trillion" cut. There aren't too many places in the world that produce gem grade Titanite like this, and the fact that this stone is over 1 carat is weight makes it "collector quality", so don't miss out.
