Item Description
The appeal of faceted Titanite is that it has one of the higher refractive indices in the gem world. It can measure as high as 2.11, making it higher than Zircon, Demantoid or even Scheelite! Sometimes in the gem world, you'll see Titanite gems labeled as "Sphene", though it should noted that that this is an archaic term, although both are generally accepted in the gem and mineral world. Most often, it seems to me that "Sphene" is used in the gem world and Titanite is used for crystallized specimens. This gem is a beautiful golden color, very very slightly included "Trillion Brilliant" cut gem from Mulla Ghori, Pakistan. The stone would make a great addition to any collection for the lovely color and wonderful dispersion.
