Titanite on Albite

One does not often think of Morocco when it comes to Titanite specimens, but the locality at Imilchil has produced some incredibly good quality Titanites in recent years. Often, the Titanites from this locality are brown in color, but the most highly sought after color is the less common green crystals! This piece features a few very sharp, highly lustrous, rich green color "wedge"-shaped crystals of Titanite sitting on cream colored Albite matrix. The largest Titanite measures 7 mm long, and is certainly good quality for the species. Good crystallized Titanites are not common worldwide, and this piece is a good representative piece from this well-known Moroccan locality.
