A classic, old-time, super sharp wedge-shaped titanite prism from the famed Bancroft area of Ontario. The highly lustrous complete all-around jet-black crystal is essentially a pristine floater. It has sharp edges and bright light reveals small patches of bright orange-red translucence, adding pizzazz. Outstanding old-time material from the Howard Belsky Collection. Howard started as a mineral dealer at age 13 in 1972, became a sophisticated dealer and died tragically at age 28 in 1987. The 18 mm label on the back with five lines of exquisite printing is from a collection, that was auctioned in 1908! One of the very best Bancroft titanites we have seen.
