Titanite & Fluorapatite in Calcite

Item Description

A 3.4 cm, sharp, titanite prism is aesthetically set in the blocky pink calcite matrix nicely accented with sections of multi-hued fluorapatite crystals, to 3.5 cm from the famous Bancroft area of Ontario. Bright light enhances the jet-black, highly lustrous crystal revealing small patches of bright orange-red translucence. The titanite is nearly pristine, with just a bit of bruising on the front edge (present, but, certainly only a minimal detraction). Combination titanite, fluorapatite and calcite specimens of this quality are RARE and seldom on the market. Classic older material formerly in the Police Chief Walter Reeves Collection, then the Patricia Barker Collection and finally in the the Dick Hauck Collection.
