Item Description
An attractive miniature specimen of this seldom seen Titanites from the Nalps Valley (Val Nalps in German) featuring three {possibly twinned?) crystals measuring up to 6 mm (good sized for the area) on matrix. The crystals are included with Clinochlore, but with strong backlighting, the largest crystal shows a mix of green, yellow, brown and a slight amount of reddish hues as you can see in the first photo. The piece is a great representative example of this lovely Alpine material from Switerland. Ex Kay Robertson Collection. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Velt" November-December 2017).
