Item Description

This is a very showy and large Titanite specimen from Morocco, from the Pohl collection. It is a cabinet specimen featuring one dramatic large cluster and one small cluster of translucent to gemmy, glassy green Titanite crystals to 8 mm jauntily festooned on a contrasting, crystalline, off-white Albite Feldspar matrix. Specimens are uncommon and came from small finds in the Anti-Atlas Mountains of Morocco a couple of decades ago (maybe in the early to mid 1990s). The largest cluster is composed of dozens of well-formed, bright green, wedge-shaped crystals that may be totally enclosing a larger Titanite crystals given the overall bladed shape of much of the crystal aggregate that measures 8 cm tall, 3 cm wide and 1 cm wide. Numerous crystals of Titanite cascade off the this shape and cluster around the base. The smaller, 2 cm cluster consists of similar Titanite crystals, however, with a maximum size of 5 mm. This is a very good and large piece from from here and the crystals are in pristine condition. It is complete all around. It is a large cabinet specimen of something very unusual for Morocco, but also this presentation on feldspar crystals makes it unusual for anywhere, with little to compare to.
