Titanite and calcite specimens are rare from the Alpine-type deposits at Tormiq and this is a striking and aesthetic example from the Herb Obodda dealer stock. The 1.7 cm, very glassy, sharply twinned, grass-green titanite crystal, large, 3.4 cm, doubly terminated calcite rhomb dramatically set on the edge and scattering of smaller calcites on the sparkly microcrystalline feldspar-coated matrix are highlights on this exceptional and pristine combination. Valued by Herb at $700, more than 6 years ago and worth it. Modest pink calcite fluorescence.
