Item Description

Titanite and amphibole specimens are extremely rare from the famous mines at Pribram, even moreso in combination! Lustrous, black, amphibole lathes to 1.6 cm are festooned on both sides of the quartz matrix slab. Scattered here and there on both sides, are lustrous, brown, titanite crystals to 3 mm. This must have been considered a significant discovery, as the Czech label lists the vein, mine level and 1997 date. Not pretty to look at, but this is a very rare, highly representative combination accessory specimen from this historic locale. Ex Josef Vajdak Collection, a noted Pribram specialist.
