Titanite and Adularia with Chlorite inclusions (Hefendehl Coll.)

Item Description

This is a really nice multiply twinned Titanite crystal on Adularia from old finds in the famous high-altitude Khyber Province in Pakistan. This twinned crystal sits off to one side of the piece and has very sharp edges showing a pair of clean twin planes on one crystal which is very rare and unusual! It has a striking grass green color that really glows with a bit of backlighting and it displays an excellent glassy luster. The pair of twins are at right angles to one another and can be seen both looking down the long axis of the crystal as well as just by rotating the piece and looking at it face-on. The sharply defined fishtail twin planes split the crystal perfectly on all four sides! There are a few other smaller, less distinct Titanite crystals at the base of the larger one and then all of them are situated on Chlorite dusted, white Adularia crystals up to 2.2 cm on edge.
