Titanite

From this well-known metamorphic deposit in Morocco, here we have a lovely Titanite thumbnail that came out around 10 years ago. The piece shows a beautiful rich golden / root beer color when backlit, but it's also a fine crystal as it shows wonderfully smooth and lustrous faces. If you look closely, you can see it's actually twinned showing a narrow "butterfly"-like habit. Good shape all around, and to find GEMMY twins of Titanite is rare from any world locality, but since the Imilchil specimens have such an enticing color, I think it makes them all the more desirable. I haven't seen many of these on the market in recent years, and they may have dried up completely.
