Item Description
Tinzenite is a rare member of the Axinite group and the specimens from the Molinello Mine in Italy are among the best examples in the world. This attractive thumbnail specimen is crystallized all around, save the base where it detached from the pocket wall, but it's essentially solid Tinzenite. The burnt orange color tabular crystals are clustered together forming "rosette"-like groups, and the luster on the actual crystal faces is quite glassy. The crystals measure up to about 3 mm, which is decent sized for the material. Overall, this is a very good specimen of this rare and beautiful species, and would make a good addition to any thumbnail suite or a collection of rarities.
