Item Description

An excellent specimen of a rare species from Searles Lake, California, the Type Locality and the Al Ordway Collection. Sharp, blocky, intergrown, doubly-terminated borax crystals are pseudomorphed by snow-white tincalconite. The textbook floater specimen is essentially pristine. Tincalconite is a rare borate and these specimens are very rare from the Type Locality. The gypsum crystal hidden in the cleft makes this an even rarer combination specimen from this locale.
