A beautiful and detailed carving of Buddha carved from a solid piece of South African Tiger's Eye. The piece is good sized and you can tell that it was carved with skill as the little details stand out beautifully even from a distance. The color ranges from a dark brown to a brilliant golden hue, and the colors mix and swirl throughout the piece, showing excellent reflective chatoyancy when rotated in the light. The piece comes from the private collection of Bill Larson, who had a suite of these beautiful carved tchotchkes from various precious and semi-precious stones from around the world. A really special, unique and certainly desirable / collectible carving that would make a great addition to any gem / lapidary collection or a suite of mineral art. The pieces weighs 187.05 carats.
