Item Description
This material is hard to find on the market that only comes from one place in the world. The beautiful patterns of bright golden chatoyant Tiger's Eye intermixed with silver metallic Hematite and red, brown or black Jaspilite make for one of the most interesting combinations that I have seen in lapidary material. From a mineralogical standpoint, this is also quite unique material. If you collect polished material, or even unique colorful worldwide decorative pieces, don't miss out on this one. The piece weighs 455 carats. From http://www.aradon.com.au "Tiger Iron is a unique gemstone found only in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. Tiger Iron is mined from an Archaean formation (3000 million years) in the Ord Ranges, near Port Hedland in Western Australia. This combination of color and pattern is highly regarded and has helped make Tiger Iron one of Australia's best known semi-precious gemstones. Tiger Iron is used widely in jewellery, carvings, ornaments and more recently in furniture, bench tops and floor tiles"
