Item Description

This piece dates back to 2005, when there was a discovery of some of the best pieces of the relatively rare zeolite species, Thomsonite in India. I imagine that a good number of collectors are probably familiar with these rather smooth spheres that are found on basalt. They don't look like Thomsonite that I've seen from any other locality. This is a great display specimen from the same locality featuring good quality, light rose-pink to cream colored spheres of Thomsonite measuring up to 3.7 cm across sitting on contrasting basalt matrix. The piece is in excellent condition, with no major damage. outside of the periphery where it was separated from the pocket wall. A beautiful display piece of one of the rarer Zeolite species out there.
From the worldwide mineral collection of geologist, Demetrius Pohl (#1424)
