Item Description
A sculptural chain of variably-sized thomsonite balls is aesthetically set on the spare basalt matrix. The translucent cream-colored balls have matte lustre and surface texture of fine-grained sandpaper. Thomsonite is rare relative to other Zeolite Group species from Maharashtra and this is an excellent small cabinet. Contacting on one side to smaller balls reveals the radial growth of the chatoyant needles, adding interest. These came from an important 2005 find from the Aurangabad District during well digging and the balls reached up to 7.0 cm. A very showy two-sided specimen from the find.
