Item Description
Please note that the given locality for this specimen is "Zirnowitz", but I can't find a listing for this locality. It's certainly from Decin (Tetschen), a classic area for Thomsonites in the Czech Republic. We have photographed this piece with a Canon MP-E 65 mm macro lens to illustrate the quality of the Thomsonites. Sharp, well-formed, "fan"-like groups of translucent, white/colorless Thomsonite coat the underlying Phonolite matrix. Classic material and a great piece to add to a Zeolite suite. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
