Item Description
Pretty spiky spherical aggregates of sparkly, oxide-tinted pastel-yellow thomsonite blades aesthetically course across the sawed basalt matrix. The periphery wear reveals the fascinating radial growth of the shimmering chatoyant white blades. The basalt Bear Creek Quarry is famous for fine thomsonite specimens, along with other Zeolite Group species. Excellent material from the Rudy Tschernich Collection. Rudy is a well-known author and field collector. He is the 1992 author of "Zeolites of the World", the bible for Zeolite Group collectors and a 1996 article on the Bear Creek Quarry, so you know this is good one.
