Item Description
Thomsonite is rare relative to other Zeolite Group species from Maharashtra, such as Stilbite, Heulandite, Mesolite, Scolecite and Mordenite and this is an excellent small cabinet. Aesthetically intergrown, translucent, tan hemispheres on spare basalt matrix comprise this sculptural specimen. The dominating large ball is 3.6 cm across. Contacts on the sides reveal the radial growth of the chatoyant, laminar crystals, adding character. This less well-known locality has probably produced the best examples of the species from Maharashtra. Ex Rock Currier Collection No. 7660 and acquired in 2005. Rock was the KING of indian minerals exports and kept a large and important personal collection, well documented, over 60 years.
