Item Description
Extremely lightweight, intergrown, tan colored crystals of thenardite ps mirabilite, to 3 cm in length, form an attractive fan shaped pattern. Most of the crystals exhibit an unusual incipient hopper growth. Weird, strange pseudomorphs, all colelcted by Jim Minette in the 1980s. Sprayed with krylon to stabilize the piece, as have all. He pulled the first lot from the pocket by the side of a road, and they decayed as they dried out. Spraying with krylon stabilized them and these have lasted 30 years and more since, just fine. Jim told me he found these once, by accident, on the side of the road as he was driving to his job as mine manager at one of the Boron mines.
