Item Description
No Franklin collection is complete without a copy of USGS professional paper of Franklin and Sterling Hill written by the great Harvard University professor and mineralogist, Charles Palache ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_Palache ) in 1935. While much has been discovered and written about this area since the time of this publication, it remains one of the more significant professional papers written on any East Coast locality. This softback, 135 page book is filled with important information, illustrations, black and white photos, and detailed descriptions of everything known about Franklin in the day. The book is in decent condition overall, the spine is worn and frayed in areas, and the corners have some slight curling, but all of the pages are in good shape with no major rips or tears that I can find. This nearly 100 year old time capsule is a must have for any Franklin enthusiast and would make a great addition to any mineral library.
