Tetrahedrite with Quartz

Item Description

This is a fine example of classic Tetrahedrite and Quartz from the old finds here at the heyday of Casapalca in the 1980s or early 1990s. This dramatic cabinet specimen features several large Tetrahedrite crystals to over 3 cm with amazing gunmetal luster. These sharp, complex tetrahedral crystals are perched on, and intergrown with patches of glistening, short, transparent to slightly milky Quartz crystals for great aesthetics. The impressive, sharply formed, metallic Tetrahedrite crystals themselves comprise much of the specimen with the base and some of the sides and top of the piece bejeweled by small groups of sharply terminated Quartz crystals from 3 to 5 mm in length. On close inspection there is admittedly some minor rubbing damage to the tetra's. This is a nicely composed specimen that sits well on its own.
