Item Description
Excellent locality piece featuring well-developed Tetrahedrites that are partially coated by an iridescent Chalcopyrite druse. The most prominent Tetrahedrite is 1.4 cm on edge, and it has both Chalcopyrite and Quartz on it. All the Tetrahedrites have modified corners and beveled edges. These crystallographic features, along with good metallic luster and the Chalcopyrite, add greatly to the mineralogical interest and the aesthetics. This piece isn't flashy, but it does have importance for the locality. An old-timer once in the Falkenhorst collection, there is a bit of edgewear, but it blends right in with the overall appearance and is less significant than you might expect. Acquired a half-century ago, this was #1462 in Kay's collection.
