Item Description

A superb large mounded specimen of lustrous, dark metallic-gray, tetrahedrite tetrahedrons accented with a few twinned sphalerite crystals and quartz crystals from this well-known Peru locale. These are some of the finest tetrahedrites from anywhere and reach 2.7 cm on edge. The underlying matrix also has pyrite. Pristine, except for one area of modest periphery wear. This exceptional combination piece probably dates to the famous finds of the early 1970s. Ex Bob Trimingham Collection.
