Item Description
A beautiful association specimen from this well-known Peruvian mine featuring a well-formed, sharp, textbook crystal of steel-black Tetrahedrite (technically Tetrahedrite Subgroup since the specific species isn't known) measuring 1.7 cm, aesthetically sitting on a stout, sharp, lustrous, white/colorless prismatic Quartz crystal. The main Tetrahedrite crystal is in very good condition, but there are a couple of spots where crystalline Tetrahedrite can be seen, not complete crystals. A very attractive and certainly distinctive piece that would make a great addition to worldwide sulfide suite or a collection of Peruvian minerals.
From the prestigious A. E. Seaman Mineral Museum at Michigan Technological University.
